The People Who Check the Numbers

Kalkfy is a small, focused team. We build financial calculators, verify them against official sources, and write the educational content that explains what the numbers mean. No sales department. No advisory board with honorary titles. Just the people who do the work.

Jordan Wells

Financial Research Editor

Jordan studied economics and spent four years processing payroll at a mid-size company in Austin, Texas. During that time, he answered the same question from employees hundreds of times: “Why is my take-home pay so low?”

That question became the foundation for everything he writes at Kalkfy. Jordan focuses on translating IRS publications, BLS data releases, and Social Security formulas into content that makes sense without an accounting degree.

His process is straightforward. Pull the official figure. Cite the source in the same sentence. Explain what it means for your paycheck, your salary, or your financial plan.

What Jordan does at Kalkfy:

  • Writes and maintains all educational content across calculator pages
  • Reviews IRS publications and BLS data releases for annual updates
  • Verifies calculator outputs against official worksheets and government tools
  • Documents formulas and methodology on each page

What Jordan is not:

He is not a CPA, financial advisor, or tax attorney. He does not provide personalized financial advice. He is a researcher and writer who reads IRS publications so you don’t have to.

How We Work

Every piece of content on Kalkfy follows the same process:

  1. Source first : Identify the official data (IRS, BLS, SSA, or state agency)
  2. Build the math : Implement standard financial formulas in the calculator
  3. Verify : Cross-check outputs against official worksheets and published tables
  4. Write : Explain the concept, cite the source, document the formula
  5. Update : When agencies publish new figures, update the calculator and content within 30 days

No content is published without a cited source. No calculator ships without verification against an official benchmark.

Contributing

Kalkfy is built by a small team, but we welcome outside expertise.

Licensed financial professionals : If you spot an error in our formulas, want to contribute a technical review, or would like to be quoted as a subject matter expert, reach out through our contact page. We will credit your name, credentials, and firm.

Users : Found a bug? Have an idea for a new calculator? Use our contact page. Every message is read.

Why a Small Team Works

Large financial media companies employ hundreds of writers and editors. We employ the number it takes to verify every number on every page.

Kalkfy does not need to publish 50 articles a month to satisfy an ad sales team. We publish a calculator when the data is verified, the formula is documented, and the content is reviewed. That approach produces fewer pages but more accurate ones.

The calculators do the talking. The numbers do the selling.
